 What Makes A Home?
Thank God, O women, for the quietness of your home, and that you are queen of it. Men come at eventide to the home; but all day long you are there, beautifying it, sanctifying it, and adorning it, blessing it. Better be there than wear a queen's coronet. Better be there than carry the purse of a princess. It may be a very humble home. There may be no carpet on the floor. There may be no pictures on the wall. There may be no silks in the wardrobe; but, by your faith in God, and your cheerful demeanor, you've given that place more splendor than the upholsterer's hand ever kindled." -- Reverend T. DeWitt Talmage, D.D

 George Washington 1789-1797
George Washington was unable to spell throughout his life and his grammar usage was very poor. His brother suggested that perhaps surveying in the backwoods might be an appropriate career for young George. Little did they know that George would be the first president of the United States who rose up quickly from the ranks during the American Revolution. Washington grew enormously in statue during the war. He was a man of unquestioned integrity, quickly becoming prominent in political affairs. He took office on April 30, 1789. Victorian Style The Good Ole Days
In the pre-liberated woman days, gentlemen were always taught to walk on the "outside" of a lady, giving her the "wall" side in the street, to provide her protection from the dirt of the road or runaway horses. But, whatever the reason, the good rationale behind the custom was that the lady received this deferential position because she was a lady and worthy of protection. REMINISCING ABOUT TEXAS - A BEAUTIFUL STATE

THE LORE OF THE BLUEBONNET
Bluebonnets have been loved since man first trod the vast prairies of Texas. Indians wove fascinating folk tales around them. The early-day Spanish priests gathered the seeds and grew them around their missions. This practice gave rise to the myth that the padres had brought the plant from Spain, but this cannot be true since the two predominant species of bluebonnets are found growing naturally only in Texas and at no other location in the world.
As historian Jack Maguire so aptly wrote, "It's not only the state flower but also a kind of floral trademark almost as well known to outsiders as cowboy boots and the Stetson hat." He goes on to affirm that "The bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland."
The ballad of our singing governor, the late W. Lee O'Daniel, goes, "you may be on the plains or the mountains or down where the sea breezes blow, but bluebonnets are one of the prime factors that make the state the most beautiful land that we know.

Country Doctor of Year honors man in needed, hard-to-fill role YOAKUM, Texas — In this sleepy country town, which sprang up around a railroad junction and the start of the Chisholm trail, folks give out their phone numbers by the last four digits, the annual Tom-Tom festival culminates with the crowning of the Tomato King and Queen, and everybody knows Doc Watson. Over the last 50 years, the tall and lanky family practitioner delivered a good many of the town's residents and doctored most of the others. The night Janet Jaco's little girl had to be rushed to the hospital with a sudden hemorrhage, David Watson walked the four blocks from his house to the Yoakum Community Hospital every hour on the hour to check on his patient and offer a comforting shoulder to her worried mother. The night the hospital urgently needed blood for an obstetrics patient, Watson rushed down from his office to donate some of his O-negative, then stayed to call in other townspeople with the right blood type. (He knew who they were.) The day after a torrential rainfall, Bernice Watson remembers, her husband did not let flooded roads stop him from getting to an ailing neighbor. He just hopped aboard a tractor, one arm around the driver, the other clutching his battered leather doctor's bag. This article is from USA TODAY and by Monica Rhor,Associated Press. OH THIS MIGHTY & BEAUTIFUL LAND-OUR FIGHT FOR FREEDOM IS NOT IN VAIN

CAPITAL HILL - WASHINGTON DC Are we as a country waking up? There are still a lot of patriotic citizens that want to take their nation back. The unaudited Federal Reserve, sky rocketing taxes, and the threat of socialism have got the attention of us Americans and it is time our voices are heard. Wall Street, do you not know that out great country was not formed by the likes of you and futhermore, you are a disgrace to the American public. As it says in Proverbs 14:34 "Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a disgrace to any people."
Our great country has survived many attacks but the most serious is a turning away from God our creator. We're headed towards fasism which is a government run economy which simply means manipulating regulations, taxes, fines, fee, and all at the cost of the american citizen. Socialism thrives on the hard work of it's people, breaking them down little at a time until they have no more fight in them. Let us not forget that Hitler tried fascism but failed only after millions of resistors were slaughtered.
Our only hope is found in the God of our great and mightly land. Not only is He the creator of the Universe, Lord over all and His only begotton Son who is Jesus Christ. If we would just repent of our sins, and turn from our wicked ways then He will hear from heaven and heal our land. Let us bring forth anew the United States Constitution that has for so long been downtrodden by evil doers and with pride rekindle the spirit of a proud country that is willing to fight for it's freedom, honor, and truth. Proverbs 31: 25-28
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. |
